Mr. Gupta has worked with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and thereafter was associated with a leading multinational pharmaceutical company before joining the legal profession. He was associated with a leading law firm in New Delhi for more than 12 years before becoming a founding member of the firm.

Experience:

Handled banking law related issues for various national and foreign banks. Mr. Gupta has assisted foreign companies in setting up liaison and branch offices and in their operations in India including obtaining necessary regulatory approvals.

He has advised clients and drafted model concession agreement on public private partnership (PPP) basis and the tender documents for Delhi Development Authority (DDA) project relating to a multi-storey parking lot in New Delhi.

Advising clients on matters relating to due diligence of immovable property, real estate development for township and commercial complex, infrastructural development, insurance coverage of the property, drafting and vetting of property development agreements, conducting of due diligence and preparation of reports, joint venture agreements.

He is is equally proficient in drafting and vetting agreements, conveyance deeds, non-disclosure agreements, family arrangements, relinquishment deeds, undertakings, agency agreements, partnerships, indemnity bonds, powers of attorney, wills, lease-deeds and other commercial agreements such as documents for creation of mortgages, banking loan documentation, documentation related to retail and consumer banking.

Contributions:

Organized various seminars / conferences. One such seminar organized was on dishonour of cheques under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act along with representatives from the judiciary, law enforcement authorities, opinion makers and financial institutions. The seminar was held in Delhi and Mumbai which paved the way for early disposal of the complaints.

He pioneered the setting up of mediation / conciliation centres for a multi-national bank to facilitate settling of customer disputes, recovery of dues, better customer care and reduction of litigation cost for the bank Co-authored an Article on the issue pertaining to a need for stricter laws by modifying the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 in Stem Cell Therapy. The same was published in a leading science magazine.
